Subject: Mangum Manor February 2014 Newsletter Available, General Meeting this week

The February 2014 Mangum Manor Civic Club newsletter is now available at www.MangumManor.org

Our guest speaker at the civic club meeting this month will be James Alexander, Director of Operations for S.E.A.L. Security Services to give a presentation on the paid security patrol services they offer as well as answer questions. Following the events of last summer, the option to contract with Harris County Precinct I for contract patrol was explored but the feedback from Mangum Manor residents in light of the estimated costs did not warrant moving forward with that effort. SEAL Security offers uniformed and armed patrols in marked vehicles for a more affordable price than the county. Participating in such a program in our neighborhood would of course be voluntary, but those who choose to contribute would receive additional benefits. Our neighbors in Oak Forest recently organized and successfully fundraised to begin a contract with SEAL. Read more about it in the newsletter or, better yet, come learn about it and ask questions at the meeting this Thursday, February 20 starting at 7:15 PM at the Scarborough High School Library.

The February newsletter was not delivered door to door as a cost-saving measure, but if you have a friend or neighbor that does not have internet access and they would like the newsletter printed and delivered at no cost to them, please have them call 713-298-7521

Hope to see you Thursday evening!
