The annual Easter Egg Hunt sponsored by the civic club will be held Saturday morning March 27, 2015 starting at 9:30 AM For the kids, there will be 2 zones, one for little kids and one for big kids to hunt for eggs filled with candy and prizes. For the adults, there will be some fresh coffee from Starbucks to enjoy. Please bring your little ones, or just stop by to say hello and enjoy some coffee! ====================================================================== Due to ongoing construction on US 290, the first three esplanades on Antoine will be ripped up in the coming weeks. Thanks to the efforts of several neighbors, the area was surveyed for the existing trees and the city has been petitioned to replace them in some capacity following the conclusion of construction. Additionally, both the large civic club sign and a recognition marker will be relocated from the esplanades to preserve and protect them during construction. ====================================================================== Please join us at our next general meeting, Thursday, Apr 16, 2015 when we will welcome Houston City Council Member Ellen Cohen as our guest speaker. We will also be taking nominations for 2015-16 Civic Club Board Members with the election to follow at the May meeting. You do not have to be present to be nominated, but it must be done so with your prior consent. The civic club serves our community but it only exists and works with the time and efforts of our neighbors who volunteer to plan, organize and hold events and meetings, serve on committees, check mail, attend Super Neighborhood and local constituency meetings, deposit checks, write and deliver newsletters, answer questions from neighbors, the city and builders and so much, much more. The board plays a key role in helping bring all this together!
